New Community Hub

We're Wereham, We're Together! - Wereham Village Hall Charity submit bid for Lottery Funds for new Community Hub.

Wereham Village Hall Management Committee have submitted a bid for funding via the Reaching Communities BIG Lottery Fund, to enable them to build a new Community Hub.
The current wooden hall is a YMCA hut from World War 1, which was bricked round during the 60's and due to its age and fragility there are restrictions on use.
The Committee Chair, Victoria Gray, said 'This community space is vital to our rural community. We've consulted with our residents and users from the surrounding villages to identify what they need. They told us that Older and Younger people want opportunities to socialise, that all ages want opportunities for physical activity, all ages would like a village cinema and adults would like the opportunity to learn new skills. To meet these needs, we need to build a new community hub. It's taken two and a half years of preparation, consultation and research, so we are thrilled to have submitted the Stage 1 Lottery Fund Application. We thank our committee, our volunteers and our community for their support in getting us to this stage'.
